May

We Heart It
It is already May... I actually cannot believe it - Christmas seems like yesterday!

Busy May ahead...

The start and end of exam season
If you are a student you will understand what a horrible time this is.. for me this year, however, it consists of one exam (I have a lot of green eyed monsters around me lately..) so I will be officially finished with year two by the 21st May. Time is going far, far to quickly!
The end of Year 2 at university

And with the end of the year comes a lot of goodbyes as I will be spending next academic year in Toulouse so chances are I won't see a lot of people for a fair while! Very exciting prospect to be going but I am certainly going to miss a lot of people.
House-hunting in Toulouse for next year
At the end of this month me and my friend are going house-hunting in Toulouse (/sunning it up for a few days) which should be good! Our aim is to get an apartment with a balcony pour quand il y a du soleil et nous buvons beaucoup du vin ;)
The commencement of summer!
It is finally feeling like it with the beautiful weather we have been having lately. Summer is just around the corner and I cannot wait. Hopefully I will find a job but I aim just to have a relaxing break with my friends in the sun.

May is going to be a good month.

What are your plans in May?

Favourites

I was going to do 'March Favourites' but it appears time moves too quickly these days haha. So these are my 'current favourites'...

Shopping again.. oops.

Disco Pants Dupes
I heard that Primark do disco pants and have literally been looking for them everytime I go in the shop. The other day I finally found them and its safe to say that I am in loveeee <3

Disco Pants - Primark (£15)

Crop tops
Crop tops used to make me think of the Spice Girls and dangerous exposure of mid-rifts. However recently I have been finding them a staple for nights out - I have a few lace tops which paired with a plain high-waisted skirt only show a peep of skin and are actually now one of my go-to outfits. Definitely a new love!

Crop Top - Topshop (£16)

Chelsea Boots
This is the third pair of identicle chelsea ankle boots I have purchased (all three from different places) as I love the design and find they go with actually everything. This particular pair are from Diechmann which used to be online-only but recently I found a real-life shop in my local town which was exciting indeed. They were super cheap at about £17. - If you don't have one nearby take a look online as its free delivery + returns.

Chelsea Boots - Diechmann (£17)

Van looky-likes
Another shoe-favourite are these bargain (£6) van look-a-likes from Primark. Can't go wrong really.

'Vans' - Primark (£6)

Music

Nothing much new but obsessed with Mirrors by Justin Timberlake - I could have it on repeat constantly. Also liking Chocolate by The 1975 - my friend showed me it and I lovesss it.

The Box

Downton Abbey
A bit late in the game on this one but I started watching it from Season 1 the other day and have already finished it (too much free time) - can't wait for season 4!

Homeland
I got through both seasons of this in the space of a few weeks - it's so gripping! Definitely reccomend it.

Easter

Happy Easter everyone!

Me and my housemate got into the easter spirit (and love any excuse to bake) so made some cute little cupcakes.

I have just come back from a lovely long bank holiday weekend at home with family and friends. Felt nice to have a break mid-way through my internship.

And I came back to this adorable collection of goodies! Best housemates ever I reckon.

Now its back to work tomorrow for the final 2 weeks and then lie-ins will be mine once again :)
I hope you all had a lovely long weekend!

Strange things happen, are you going round the twist

Did anyone watch that tv show as a child? Think it was called round the twist. Got the theme tune in my head. #90skid

I felt like a ramble today, I haven't posted properly and consistently on here since literally forever. I keep saying to myself I will blog looads next year as I will be in the land of snails and frogs (France), however then I think why not do that now? Its never too early to write down memories and experiences.

Speaking of France, that's a challenge in my life at the moment. Turns out finding accommodation to live for a year in a whole other country is a bit difficult! However this also means a weekend break to sort it all out might be in order (yay). It excites and scares me to be going away in a few months, a few months which I know will fly by and before I know it i'll be there!
Je suis un peu nerveuse.

I am almost halfway through my 4 week internship at the moment (something else which is going by so quickly!), and I never appreciated how tiring working 9-5 is. I know its average if not less than most peoples work load which makes me glad i'm doing it as I feel like im really earning my money for once and learning so much as I go. I'll be honest I am one of those people who likes to have a system in place and know exactly what i'm doing and how to do it; and starting out at a company is none of these things. So it turns out these four weeks are teaching me not to worry and stress as much as well.

Summer is nearly here again! NOT.
It is late March here in the Southwest of England and I find myself still sleeping in at least 3 layers in bed and failing to feel my feet/fingers throughout the day. It's ridiculous - global warming? Hmm I have yet to see proof of this one.

More soon.

Maybelline 'The Falsies' Mascara - Review

Today I am going to do a short review on the Maybelline 'The Falsies' Mascara. Its a product which I have seen loved by loads of people all over youtube and blogs so I thought it was about time I picked it up! It was on offer for about £4 when I purchased it so not bad price-wise.

Maybelline 'The Falsies' Mascara in 'black drama' - RRP 7.99
It definitely does a great job of giving my lashes length and curl - I particularly like the curved wand as it makes it so much easier to apply. Below you can see before and after pictures to see it's effect...

Before
After
So as you can see they give amazing length and give a spidery effect which I like. The only downside to this product would be that I find it smudges underneath my eye during the day a little. So maybe when it runs out I will think about buying the waterproof version as I feel it may stay put for longer.

If it wasn't on offer i'm not sure I would pay £7.99 for it as I feel there are cheaper mascaras which do pretty much the same thing. But for £4 I can't complain!

Overall a great mascara though and definitely one of my favourites :)
