Festival Fun Times

As you would have noticed, I recently went to WOMAD which is a festival located conviniently just down the road from me! We go every year and with the UK going through a heat-wave it was so unbelievably hot and lovely to have a few days chilling in the sun with a cider in hand.

As shown in my last Summer Staples post here, my new Primark hat provided welcome shade from the sun.

I had a great weekend - eating, drinking and listening to music in the sun - what's not to love! You probably wouldn't know any of the acts as they are from all around the world; but that is the beauty of WOMAD, there is no pressure to see a long list of artists, but instead you just stumble onto some under-rated musical genius.

Actually I lie, this year they had Sinead O Connor playing ('Nothing Compares', you 90's kids will know!)

Summer Staples # 4 - Festival Style Essentials

I am off to a local festival called WOMAD next week and I cannot WAIT. When it comes to festivals i'm all about the festival style, any excuse to wear a flower headband and i'm there. Thought i'd show you a few festival goodies which I picked up in Primark recently...

Hello There

Im back!

I apologise for the lack of posts recently but you know when life (and laziness) just gets in the way? I have been busy with work and also finally having a social life as my friends slowly come back from university for the summer.

With the lovely weather comes festival season. Now i'm not going to any big festivals this year sadly but there are always a few small local ones where I live which are always fun to go to with some friends. I went to 'Sherston Fest' (literally a field in the next town over) for the evening with some friends and I had such a great evening with some good music, good food, a few drinks and the sun shining.

Isn't is amazing how much a little bit of sun can improve your mood?!

Flowers in her hair

As you know i've luckily been to some small festivals this summer - with flowers, dresses and wellies it is one of my favourite times of the summer!

I have yet to master taking good outfit photos so as a compromise I thought i'd do a little run-through of my favourite festival fashion from the photos I already have from the festivals alongside my favourite pieces.

These outfits are pretty casual but I have been obsessed with these flower head-bands and I think the rest of the outfit can't be too loud otherwise it will look like a car crash. These Urban Outfitters shorts have been my summer staple - the £35 price tag was painful at first but I think they have been worth it as they go with absolutely everything!

Make way for a lot of packing/orgaisation and birthday posts coming up as I leave for France in less than two weeks! This summer has flown by.

Festival Fever

The last few weeks have been pretty busy for me due to going to a couple of local festivals - WOMAD and Fieldview Festival. They were absolutely amazing because of the incredible weather, music, food and company.

Fieldview Festival is very special to our area as it has become somewhat of a tradition for me and my friends to go every year as it is small and personal and yet never fails to impress. I would say this year was the best yet which is bitter sweet as it is also the last ever year! What am I meant to do next summer?!

I saw this competition over on 'girlinthelens' (amazing blog, if you haven't already, take a look!), check it out for the details. Festival season is my absolute favorite time of year for fashion - Patterns, flowers and wellies - whats not to like.

No festival outfit would be complete without some sort of flowers whether it is a flower headband, or in this case I chose a hat with flower detailing. The parka is for the unpreictable english summer weather and I love how khaki green looks with a delicate white sundress. The duffle bag is a simple cross-over bag so that your hands are free for dancing and its big enough for the necessities. Finally, no festival outfit would be complete without wellies and these lime green ones are particularly amazing as they are glow in the dark and are a bargain.
